I Watched a Marketing Agency
Burn $50K/Month and Deliver Nothing.
So I built the thing that actually works — and it turned out to be far bigger than marketing.
The Name
DeGenito is Italian for genesis. It is my grandmother's last name, and it felt right for what we are building: a new beginning for how a business actually runs on AI.
The Background
I have spent over 20 years as a software engineer building CRM systems and automation platforms for financial services companies — debt settlement firms, credit counseling agencies, businesses where every lead matters and every dollar gets scrutinized.
One pattern held across every company. Leads and marketing were always the biggest expense. Payroll was second. Vendors cut quality while charging premiums and made promises they had no intention of keeping. So I built reporting and accountability systems specifically to detect when quality dropped, cut the bad vendors, and prove what was actually working. Measurement was the whole job.
The Breaking Point
My last client runs a $25M-a-year company in South Florida. Forty employees. They were spending $30,000 to $50,000 per month on Google Ads, plus 20% of that to their marketing agency — an agency that was supposed to manage everything.
What it delivered was a slow website, sloppy campaign management, and zero of the maintenance it promised. When I asked them to dial back spend during a historically dead month, they refused — arrogant, condescending, and unable to answer basic questions about performance.
